A Stitch Different


Is a Community Interest Company and is comprised of Furness parents of young people with ASC and related conditions. As active members for the National Autistic Society-Furness Branch this Community Interest Company has been created with the aim of helping local people living with Autism or other disabilities, by providing meaningful activities/employment & the proceeds being reinvested or donated back into the Autism community.




We are a team whose aim is to provide services for those with autism in the South Cumbria area. We are a not-for-profit organization who work with families, youth organizations, schools and employment support agencies to run youth clubs, holiday activity sessions, training of teachers and employment support workers, workshops and seminars.

The Children’s Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists are all part of one county wide integrated Therapy Team, managed in three county localities; East, West and South Cumbria. We provide specialist advice in order to support the work that parents, schools, nurseries, health visitors, health and wellbeing nurses and charities are doing to help the development of children in Cumbria and we work very closely with these people.
